Today has been an exciting day thus far. Breakfast was AMAZING! Breakfast sandwich on a crissont (sp?). Then we packed luches, also delicious, and headed out on our field trips.
Ferd's Bog was really cool. It was interesting to see all of the native plant life. Kathy and Jason weren't hesitant to walk out on the bog. They were wandering all over without a care in the world about potentially breaking through the thick moss. I'm excited to see all of the pictures that Kathy got. She has already uploaded a bunch to facebook.
After the bog we went on a 2.2 mile hike up to Bear Mountain. The views at the top were absolutely gorgeous. It was really cool to see soo many mountain tops without buildings on them. I'm glad that the Adirondacks have been so preserved. The hike itself was tough at times. Courtney and I were getting very winded towards the end but it felt like such an accomplishment to reach the top. We didn't walk all the way up to the Summit but the view we saw was great.
Now we are just hanging out, blogging, and getting ready to go kayaking for which I am VERY excited about. I've been wanting to go since we first got here. Hopefully it is a dry experience=)
I think everyone stayed dry in the kayaks, right? It was a sight to see when the "fleet" sailed past Durant's dock.
ReplyDeleteKathy's pictures were great - some great ones of you she took. I have kayak photos which I will make available.
